Rare 1700s Edo Japanese antique "Nio Kongo Rikishi Agyo" Wooden face Glass eyes. It is a very powerful face! Reference Pictures of Japanese Nio Kongo Rikishi Agyo. This is the face of NIO KONGO RIKISHI Agyo made in the 1700s Edo period. The eyes are covered with glass.

It is a large face, so the full body size of this statue is thought to have been larger than 2m (7feet). Large Japanese Buddhist statues were made by assembling wood like this (kumiki). As shown in the photos, there is some paint peeling, minor scratches, and stains due to age. This is unavoidable as it is a very old authentic antique.
